IT2Industry Open Conference
At the first IT2Industry Open Conference at the Messe München trade-fair center on November 11, 2014, more than 300 visitors gathered information about the industrial Internet of Things. There were more than 30 lectures and panel discussions that revolved around applications and best-practice examples on topics including M2M, mobility, industry software, infrastructure and digital networks, IT and sensor technology, security and energy.
Statements about the future-oriented concept of the fair
Reinhard Pfeiffer, Deputy CEO of Messe München, feels that the successful premiere in 2014 validates the concept of this new event: "Thanks to the unique combination of our leading technology fairs and the IT location of Munich, IT2Industry satisfies the best prerequisites for finding common ground when it comes to the industrial Internet of Things for various branches of industry."
On the topic of IT and energy, Josef Stakemeier, Head of Strategic Sales Regions and Marketing at IT2Industry partner bayme vbm, said: "The IT2Industry Conference has made it clear that linking IT and energy is a key factor for energy efficiency. Industry 4.0 will only become concrete when big data becomes smart data so that companies can increase their energy efficiency, safeguard sustainability, reduce costs, promote innovation and open up growth markets."
Besides SMEs and corporations, international companies also present developments that pertain to the industrial Internet of Thing. Dan Somers, CEO, Warwick Analytical Software in Great Britain, praised the selection of topics at the conference: "IT2Industry has a very good mixture of sectors and suppliers. In addition, Germany is one of the most important markets for us. Compared to other trade-fair locations, Munich with its leading IT and industrial companies occupies the top position."
Benedikt Rauscher, Head of Development Group at Pepperl+Fuchs, was also very positive: "On the one hand, IT2Industry's interdisciplinary topics give visitors a comprehensive insight into the subject of Industry 4.0. On the other, companies benefit because we find out about tendencies and new business opportunities that involve the industrial Internet of Things."
Directly embedded in a network of leading high-tech trade fairs
The next IT2Industry takes place in Munich from November 10–13, 2015. It will be embedded as a "fair within the fair" in productronica, the World's Leading Trade Fair for Electronics Development and Production. Besides an extensive conference program, for the first time ever IT2Industry will also have its own exhibition sector. That makes IT2Industry an independent platform that is linked to leading high-tech trade shows.
