Public transportation from Munich Airport to the exhibition grounds and the ICM

Directly below the central area of the Munich Airport, you’ll find the suburban train (S-Bahn) lines S1 and S8. Every 10 minutes a train departs for the city center. Depending on the route you choose, the ride takes between 45 and 60 minutes.

Public transportation routes to and from the Messe München/ICM – International Congress Center München

Route with the S8, U5 and U2
  • Take the S8 from the airport to the stop Ostbahnhof
  • Transfer to the U5 direction Neuperlach Süd and ride one station to the stop Innsbrucker Ring
  • From the same platform, transfer to the U2 direction Messestadt Ost and ride it to the exhibition grounds
  • Stops Messestadt West or Messestadt Ost
Transfers: two
Travel time: approx. 46 minutes
Route with the S8 and U2
  • Take the S8 from the airport to the stop Hauptbahnhof (Central Station)
  • Transfer to the U2 direction Messestadt Ost and ride it to the exhibition grounds
  • Stops Messestadt West or Messestadt Ost
Transfers: one
Travel time: approx. 60 minutes
Route with the S1 and U2
  • Take the S1 from the airport to either the stop Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) or Feldmoching
  • Transfer to the U2 direction Messestadt Ost and travel to the exhibition grounds
  • Stops Messestadt West or Messestadt Ost

Travel time: approx. 60 minutes
