DataWorks Summitand AWE EU (Augmented World Expo): A number of new high-profile IT events are on the Messe München Locations agenda in 2017. And they all reflect a clear trend: Munich's growing popularity among organizers in the IT sector!
Monika Dech, Deputy Managing Director at Messe München, is particularly pleased that, besides a number of renowned German companies, more and more international global players want to hold events in Munich: "The DataWorks Summit, for example, is the first large-scale user conference that we have acquired from the United States!"
Munich actually has a great deal to offer organizers in the IT industry. Dech: "Munich's significance as an IT location is constantly increasing—some even refer to it as 'Isar Valley'. And a growing number of major corporations in this sector have their German headquarters in Munich.
Add to that some important "soft facts": Munich's first-rate selection of hotels, Bavarian hospitality, the fact that Munich is easy to reach, and its unsurpassed range of leisure and recreational activities lure organizers of international IT events to Munich, explains Dech.
Finally, high demand among IT companies also underscores the trend toward rapid digitalization. Dech: "Entirely new and extremely different event formats are emerging in this sector, and our three Messe München Locations—the ICM – Internationales Congress Center München, MOC Veranstaltungscenter München and the trade-fair center—allow us to meet their needs perfectly. When it comes to the range, size and diversity of these formats, Munich is the perfect location for IT events," explains Dech.
